Add Draymond Green's energy and versatility and it's still a potent mix. Note that this is based on the current composition of teams as of this writing which is unlikely to bappen.
The Jimmy Butler Lottery so to speak, is still taking place as this is being written. It's already being reported that Houston has offered 4 first round draft picks for him.
Which seems almost insane and if true makes one wonder what is wrong with Minnesota for not accepting it.
Butler is a wild card in a couple of ways. It's almost certain that he will force Minnesota to trade him and playoff bound teams are surely the ones in the bidding market.
Someone will get him. The team that does, if they can blend him happily into their system, possibly a big "if", becomes a legitimate contender for the title.
Boston is far too top heavy at the position with very good players. The Lakers are already discombobulated from a chemistry stand point so neither one of those makes sense.
I don't think Portland works and The Knicks probably aren't playoff contenders now. Butler would get them to the playoffs but no further than first round, maybe second.
The Golden State Warriors, no question needed. Their starting line-up is just beautiful, Curry, Thompson, Durant, Green, and Cousins if he can recover.
Five all-stars on the same team? You looking forward to have them defeated? Saying that the Golden State Warriors have the best chance.
Now I hate the warriors and what a lot of players did by joining this super super star team just to win rings. Considering he took the cavs team to the finals being the 8th time he has taken his team to the finals consecutively, there is a decent chance that LeBron with the help of rookes like Lonzo and veterans like Rondo can really make the chance of the Lakers beating the warriors in the West semi-finals, if those are the teams that make the semi - finals which it probably will be.
One of those 2 teams will probably win. The other 2 teams that I can say have any chance are the Celtics and Rockets. I think GSW still proves to be the best team in the West and more than likely will win another ring or two before the Lakers are ready to get to the finals.
The Warriors have managed to keep their core players together as well as add a talented player such as DeMarcus Cousins. The Rockets also managed to finish at the 1 seed last season, James Harden and Chris Paul have done an amazing job and have great complimentary pieces around them.
The key to Rockets is how well Carmelo Anthony can melt in to the team and play well. As always with these types of questions, it really depends how the first four to five months of the season go.
Injuries, issues, trades—the NBA is constantly changing. However, I can give you the rough idea of what will happen from this standpoint.
The West is a tad bit complicated as it is a bloodbath. I do think that Houston or Golden State will make it though.
On paper, the Warriors indeed look even more formidable next season with Demarcus Cousins adding lowpost presence to their offense.
With the core of the back-to-back champions still intact, adding Cousins further widens the disparity between the Warriors and the rest of the league.
That's most probably going to be Golden State Warriors. Though people tend to forget that 1 or 2 injuries can really impact even this team. A healthy roster won't be easily beaten.
Only addition I can think of is that LeBron is always an outsider, no matter his team. But are his current teammates better than his previous team, would be the question to ask.
But there is no real depth now. I wonder how good Toronto can be with Leonard in stead of DeRozan, but that's pure guessing at this point.
If nobody of serious importance gets hurt, I see the conference finals being as follows. With how tough the Celtics have played the Warriors at Oracle Arena, this would be one of the best finals in recent memory, with the Celtics falling just a little short of the ultimate goal.
The Warriors will repeat. They can win with the All Star talent they have. They will defeat the Boston Celtics in 5 Play best flash games ever free online!
Celtics, Lakers, Rockets, and the Warriors are all favorites to win the finals. West coast teams have certainly showed their dominance over East coast teams so that puts Boston at a disadvantage.
If Harden could just play defense, this team could win it all. Golden State should be the favourite again. Cousins was a big addition. However a lot depends on health.
Look how close Houston came. They might have won if not for Chris Paul's injury. They are the 2 time defending champions and have FIVE all-stars on their team.
Warriors are Heavy Favorites to Three-Peat. This page may be out of date. Save your draft before refreshing this page.
